About the Heavy-Lift Transformer Assembly Hall – MATELEC
Completed in 2010 for MATELEC in Ghorfin, a large span streel structure represents one of Daher Industrial’s most demanding structural engineering undertakings – a purpose-built transformer assembly hall designed to support some of the heaviest lifting loads in any Lebanese industrial facility.
Spanning 25 meters across a 3,125 m2 floor area with a 15 meter peak height, the structure was engineered to carry four overhead cranes operating simultaneously: two double-girder Konecranes units each rated at 75+10 tons, and two single-girder cranes rated at 6.3 tons each – delivering a total installed lifting capacity that meets the most extreme requirements of large power transformer assembly and testing.
The steel portal frame and roof truss system were designed from the ground up to accommodate the extraordinary dynamic and static crane loads, with crane rails and reinforced runway beams integrated into the structural design as primary load-bearing elements.
A full turnkey delivery by Daher Industrial – from structural engineering through to installation and commissioning.
